The triathlon and marathon swimming events for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, in the Seine River between the Pont d’léna and the Pont Mirabeau. In preparation for this, Semeru has been selected by the City of Paris to define the “swimming profile” of this section of the river over the next three years. The water speed measurement campaigns here began in 2019 and are currently underway.
The aim is to model the life of the river to ensure that the events can be held in good conditions. This work is part of an action plan to improve water quality and open the river up again to bathing.
