Creation of Fayat Acceleration Startups

The FAYAT group created in 2019 a dedicated investment structure to meet the equity and quasi-equity needs of innovative startups related to the main activities of the group. Fayat Acceleration Startups aims to support the development of startups by meeting their financial needs (acquisition of minority stakes in capital) and by offering to make available the
business expertise of its divisions to accelerate the growth of accompanied startups.

Development in emerging countries

After the creation of a Bomag subsidiary in Brazil, the Group took over a road equipment plant there from Terex, before adding a production line in the US. This saw the Group set out its development strategy in high-potential emerging countries.

The road equipment division rounds off its range and extends its outreach abroad by taking over the world's compacting leader, Bomag, in Germany, owner of plants in USA and China.

Breakthrough in civil works

Bec Frères in Montpellier (South France) bolsters the Group's earthworks and civil engineering strands. Three general construction subsidiaries of Bec Frères also join the Group.

Ongoing diversification

With the acquisition of the Genest group in Viry-Châtillon (North-Central France), Fayat doubles its workforce and turnover. It takes on new activities: industrial electricity and special foundations.

MARINI, established in Alfonsine in 1899, is a world leader in the production of asphalt plants.

ERMONT takeover

ERMONT joins FAYAT Group and becomes a part of what is now called the Road building division.

Debut in industrial equipment

The Group takes over several companies one after another in handling and lifting equipment as well as road building equipment: ADC (Atelier De la Chaînette) in Parthenay (West France), Ermont in Lorette (South-East France) and Marini in Italy.

Venture into steel construction

Steel construction becomes part of the Fayat Group's business with the buy-out of Castel et Fromaget in Fleurance (South-West France). The group acquires 10 other steel companies within the following years.

First steps in industry and vineyards

Fayat acquired its first compressed-air tank production plant: Le Réservoir in Montluçon (Allier). Clément Fayat also became owner of Château La Dominique, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé.

Emblematic contracts

At the head of SNT, Clément Fayat made his name in the Bordeaux business world, thanks to a major contract for the new Bassens factory and a share of the Bordeaux municipal water treatment market.
