Development in emerging countries
After the creation of a Bomag subsidiary in Brazil, the Group took over a road equipment plant there from Terex, before adding a production line in the US. This saw the Group set out its development strategy in high-potential emerging countries.

Debut in industrial equipment
The Group takes over several companies one after another in handling and lifting equipment as well as road building equipment: ADC (Atelier De la Chaînette) in Parthenay (West France), Ermont in Lorette (South-East France) and Marini in Italy.

Venture into steel construction
Steel construction becomes part of the Fayat Group's business with the buy-out of Castel et Fromaget in Fleurance (South-West France). The group acquires 10 other steel companies within the following years.

First steps in industry and vineyards
Fayat acquired its first compressed-air tank production plant: Le Réservoir in Montluçon (Allier). Clément Fayat also became owner of Château La Dominique, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé.

Emblematic contracts
