Bomag, the leader in compaction technology, held an inauguration ceremony on 15 June 2012 for the launch of its future plant in Boppard (Germany), which manufactures, assembles and paints compactors and will be one of the most efficient plants in the world.
The main plant will thus cover a total surface area of 12,600 m2. This project corresponds to a total investment of approximately €21.5 million, making it the company’s biggest investment in its 55-year history on the market.
Aim: to double the production capacity
The launch of the project has been scheduled for July 2012 and production will start in the summer of 2013. At the end of the works in 2013, the production capacity will have doubled. An independent factory will be created inside the main plant, in addition to canopies and administrative buildings. The different production sites, which are currently separate, will therefore be brought together under the same roof.
The production mode will be based on the principle of teamwork with greater responsibility and freedom in decision-making for the employees. The new plant will employ 160 people, which is twice the size of the current workforce.
