A complete worksite
As part of the process of extending the lifespan of its nuclear power plants, EDF needs to change the stators weighing around 300 tonnes by operating the 2 heavy cranes in the engine room in synchronised mode.
To achieve this, EDF asked COMETE-J.Paris to carry out the complete renovation of the 4 heavy cranes in the engine rooms at the Bugey power plant.

THE STUDIES
Renovation of the electrical, automation, air-conditioning and fire systems; reinforcement of the girder and bogie structure; compliance upgrade of accesses and extension of the footbridge; new 175 T and 50 T trolley and cab (following change of CMU).

Electrical cabinets, LGA, G19 box, brake resistors, power supply festoons; travel gearmotors, fire system and air conditioning; forklift, cab and drum; 175 T and 50 T blocks and lifting cables.
ON-SITE INSTALLATION
Compliance upgrade of accesses and extension of gangway; removal of electrical installations; cab, shaft and pulley blocks; reinforcement of beams and bogies, opening of TH and extension of the steering rail; removal of a roof section and opening of the skydome; removal and dismantling of the old trolley; installation of the new carriage, installation and wiring of the electrical cabinets, the new power supply chain, the new LGA, the fire system and the air conditioning; reeving of the 50 T and 175 T hooks; replacement of the translation gearmotors.

For the 4 forklifts and equipment; and on-site tests (creation of test loads): Electrical continuity check, Parameter setting and check of equipment and no-load PLCs; 50 T load tests (elementary movements, speeds, currents, braking, levelling, release modes); 50 T regulatory tests (electrical regulatory checks, 75 T static tests, 62.5 T dynamic tests); 175 T load tests (elementary movements, speeds, currents, braking, levelling, release modes); 175 T regulatory tests (262 T static tests, 219 T dynamic tests).
