Today, views of underground networks can be captured on video and displayed in augmented reality.
The RESO 3D application was designed by a surveyor and allows trenches and underground networks to be filmed with a smartphone. The files are processed by photogrammetry to generate point clouds of networks and trenches. This is all georeferenced to the control points. Network protection is continuous and the video sensor adjusts automatically to match existing environments.
Point cloud files of the RESO 3D type can be used to create a 3D model of the network, designating the valves by type, brand, shape, size and use. All the networks and trenches are captured for later use. Thanks to smartphone apps like RESO 3D, the trench can be filled in without waiting for the surveyor, revealing the control points captured by the video later.
The operation is sent to a server which will use a powerful algorithm to extract the photos from the video and generate 3D objects. Thanks to the film, the trench can be immediately filled in and a surveyor can come and record the control points a few days later.
The images are assembled flat and are available in several formats according to individual specifications.
