Delivers two structures at the Westfield Vélizy2 shopping centre (VIRY)

A project is part of an environmental certification process BREEAM New Construction-2016 Very Good level.

Based since 1972 in Yvelines (78), this complex, which welcomes 14 million visitors a year, is among the top 10 French shopping centres. The two-part extension recently completed is a fine example of daring glass and steel architecture.

The recreational wing is now home to an 18-screen multiplex and a catering space. The glass-scaled sphere that houses the cinema (height: 25m, developed length: 200 metres) consists of 24 double-curvature lines decorated with 2,700 unique glassworks. The entrance to the complex is announced by a monumental round bubble complete with 355 triangular glazed volumes.

An award-winning BIM ecosystem

The jury of the 11th edition of the Tekla BIM Awards 2020 awarded Viry the Special Jury Prize for her achievement of the extension. The collaborative operation induced by the use of the same 3D model produced on Telka was particularly appreciated by the jury, who praised the interoperability, fluidity and efficiency in the service of the project.
