A PROJECT FOR THE TOULON NAVAL BASE
These steel caissons are designed to drain the large basins of the Toulon naval base. They are made from 10 impressively-large steel blocks, each weighing 49 tonnes. These blocks began to be assembled and painted in January 2018 in basin 3 of the Port of Saint-Nazaire before being transported by barge to Toulon in summer 2018.
