On 5 July 2012, Clément Fayat, 80 years of age, was awarded the insignia of the Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur award from Alain Juppé, the Mayor of Bordeaux.
This nomination was one of the Easter appointments made by the French Ministry of Industry. The decoration was officially awarded in winery of the Château Clément-Pichon, one of the properties of Vignobles Clément Fayat.

This is France’s highest award.

The Légion d’honneur is the highest French decoration. It is a reward for eminent services rendered to the nation by citizens, civilians or soldiers in all sectors of activity. The rank of Commandeur is the highest of the three ranks in this order.
