Vilquin: Production robotics

Production robotics: a French first

In addition to the expansion of the Jarnac site (from 11,500 to 17,536m2), the production premises are being reorganised around an assembly and welding robot, the first of its kind in France.

This robot, which is capable of assembling and welding secondary parts onto the main parts of metal frames, is the first of its kind in French and has been working “hand-in-hand” with the teams since the end of November. It was recently put to work as part of a 500-tonne deal signed with the company LM Soleil, which specialises in installing photovoltaic facilities for the farming industry.

The key advantage of this ergonomic tool remains how much simpler it makes it to program the robot’s movements, which is done using a digital model provided by the design & engineering department.
